Shelf News: Late July/Early August

Went to my local Target since I heard they had new stuff in stock.  Here's what I found!  The "Range Master" from BuzzBee is out.  It's claims ranges of 60 feet and the barrel extension increases it's size to 3 feet in length.  Has a faux scope (that at a glance looks real) and Suction Darts that are loaded into this bolt-action blaster from the right side.  Pricetag was 17.99 USD (it was just in the wrong spot when I took this picture).

Also, from the Air Warriors line from BuzzBee is the Cougar.  It's a "10 Dart Automatic Indexing" blaster with a stubby stock.  Looks interesting, but I've still never bought any brand of Dart Blaster other than Nerf.  I might check either this or the Range Master out though.

Nerf's "Firevision" sports gear has hit shelves as well.  These glasses have Green or Red LEDs that shine forward to "illuminate" special silver strips on the Nerf Foam Footballs and Basketballs.  Only problem with this is that if you're not tracking the ball in front of you, it won't light up... so if you biff catching a pass or something like that, well, you've gotta find it with these special glasses too.

Xploderz seems to have caught on to the "Light it Up" idea Nerf had back in March.  Albeit it's a little late, but they're trying to keep up.  The "Night Fighterz" Gen-700 claims 85 ft ranges while the Gen-1000 claims 95 feet of range.  There is special Glow-ammo that these use that are included and sold in refill packs.

There are Lazer Tag sets on shelves now. These are slated to be released at Toys R Us and Wal-Mart too, but Target beat 'em to the punch.  So far, just the single blaster sets are being sold.  I get a lot of questions as to whether the LTAR can work without an iOS, and the packaging on these blasters does nothing to suggest that you can use an LTAR without the iOS.  I do plan on making another video to correct Hasbro's gigantic overlook of this by publicizing the heck outta the fact that these CAN be used without an iOS. Single blaster sets, in Orange and White, retail at Target for 32.99 USD.

And finally, more Elite gear has been hitting shelves.  I've seen Rampages, Retaliators, 18 Dart Quick Reload Clips, Bandoleers, and now just the normal refill packs.  There are packs of 12 and of 30 out there for the Elite Lineup.  I haven't seen any Hailfire blasters on shelves yet, but I did manage to find a spot for one, so I'll keep my eyes out for that thing.

  1. Cool finds at target. Didn't know that the buzz bee guns were finally out. Maybe I should go check my local target now.

  2. Some friends in the Nerf Community suggested that I do this. I was wondering if you could sponsor my website on this blog or Nerf Mods & Reviews?

  3. 17.99 is not bad at all for a sniper!

    1. Nope. I really want someone to review it to see if the ranges are true. I don't think it would look bad with a paintjob. ;P

  4. Hah, that Range Master looks like a rip off of the Mass Effect M8 Assault Rifle. Not as big of a rip off as the Plasma Blaster was of the Halo MA5B but I think they learned their lesson with that one.

  5. At the bottom left of the range master box it says "air blasters extreme." This really makes it seem like competition aimed directly at n-strike elite.

  6. Can anyone confirm that the Range master is bolt-action?An OzNerf member said it was said it was air-powered by pumping the bolt?. ???
    Any Pyragons, Bazookafied?
'Xploderz'(IMO) is a ripoff brand between Max Force and Nerf.

    1. Yes, the Range Master is bolt-action. You stick the dart into the bolt and the movement of the bolt pumps the gun. You have to pump the bolt multiple times to achieve max range, though. http://nerfhaven.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22869
Try getting out into the Nerf world a little more by checking the forums.

  7. The normal refill packs are pretty pricey. 50 cents for each dart is a lot different from what we saw before on their website. I think it was roughly 26.6 cents or something for each.
