I'm also having an AWFUL time trying to picture this Firefly Tech mag for Vortex looking good in ANY of their blasters. Just imagine... WHITE with this Green? Ugh... no. How's about the traditional Vortex colors with this? Still no. Or whaddabout an ALL Green blaster thanks to this being paired with the Lumitron? Yeah... I don't see how the Vortex lineup wins with this one.
Feel free to weigh in on your opinions on this.
Pretty sure the coloring isn't meant to look nice, but more to make it stand out as being a glow clip... Can see the color difference being VERY useful in low-light fields, but the Rayven one does confuse me a bit. Why would they keep the battery compartment on the side instead of making it slightly longer so it could be at the bottom? Seems like thickness and balance are more important than length, and having the weight of the batteries in it be centered would really help with that.
ReplyDeleteHaving a clip LONGER than the standard 18 round clip is... kind of overkill. I could see them designing a clip that was the same size as an 18 round clip but only having 10 darts to help keep things even between Darts vs Disks.
Deletedid you see the new special edition darts
DeleteYes, but they have nothing to do with this topic.
DeleteOverkill, yes, but it seems better than throwing off the balance of some blasters completely; can't stand using firefly clips in my Longshot, since it has enough power that the battery weight makes it completely inaccurate.
DeleteWell, they tied the green clip into the new rayven, so if they released a new lumitron, then I'm sure they'll figure it out. Also, they might just sell this as a standalone, and not rerelease the lumitron, just for shelf space, but if they did, they that would be cool.
ReplyDeleteI personally don't own any vortex blasters. With all the Elite gear I don't think I ever will as the main selling point, the range, can now be achieved with darts.
ReplyDeleteHowever I saw that the Rough Cut and Diatron are now official on the Nerf Facebook page. I think it's odd that all the new Elite blasters are in stores already, but no one has even seen a Diatron out of the box.
Remember, the Rayven was out long before the Lumitron for the "Light it up" series. I expect the same from the RoughCut 2x4 and Diatron for the "Multishot Madness" series.
DeletePerhaps I'm in the minority but I personally really like the lime green Lumitron and Rayven... however the lime green clips in the lime green blaster would be a bit overkill...
