NEW! NERF Rhino-Fire

This just in from the land of Copyright-ness!  We've got a new name for a blaster secured by Hasbro.  According to Trademarkia.com, the "Rhino-Fire" name has been trademarked for Hasbro as a "Toy dart shooter and foam toy darts for use therewith".

On Thursday, February 20, 2014, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for RHINO-FIRE by Hasbro, Inc., Pawtucket, RI 02862. The USPTO has given the RHINO-FIRE trademark serial number of 86198748. The current federal status of this trademark filing is NEW APPLICATION - RECORD INITIALIZED NOT ASSIGNED TO EXAMINER. The correspondent listed for RHINO-FIRE is HASBRO, INC. of HASBRO, INC., 1027 NEWPORT AVENUE, PAWTUCKET, RI 02862 . The RHINO-FIRE trademark is filed in the category of Toys and Sporting Goods Products . The description provided to the USPTO for RHINO-FIRE is Toy dart shooters and foam toy darts for use therewith.

No pictures or other information, obviously... but I wouldn't expect something with the name "Rhino" to be a small pea-shooter blaster.  The old Max Force lineup had some animal names for blasters, but I don't expect those making a comeback.  In any case: speculate!

  1. Could this be the Mega LMG we have heard about?

  2. Hope it's not another Spider-Man blaster.

  3. They are going to introduce yet another form of dart called the mega-mircro that will be lauded as the smallest dart ever & be used in blaster so small that only infants can use them comfortably. Seriously though the Mega LMG could be interesting if not pricey and would fill a gap in the mega line. Another possibility would be using that new "grenade" that comes with the Demolisher to make a revolver style grenade launcher which could be fun for those that like to use "grenades" in their games

  4. What with 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' due for release this year which has already been confirmed as featuring 'Rhino', my money is on this thing being another Spider-Man blaster.

    1. sounds like a reasonable explanation. not many n-strike blasters are named after animals, except hornet

  5. Two posibilities:
One, it could be full-auto elite darts up top with a Mega-caliber, five-shot Barricade underneath.
Or, it could be a fly-wheel, semi-auto, box-fed rifle feeding Mega darts through the primary barrel, and lobbing Grinades through the bottom barrel. (A la Demolisher)
Both would be big, fitting the Rhino moniker (A rhino's lower horn is bigger than its top horn.)
