Elite-ists

Upon checking my usual blogs this morning, I saw a link from a not-so-usual contender.  Portal's Portal had taken a closer look at an Ad found by SG Nerf that shows us a nice front-shot of the Firestrike (totally called that layout), the extremely expensive Strongarm, and even the Rampage with that shield we had seen earlier.  I didn't expect so much news swirling around the Elite lineup post-release but here we are still scratching our heads and staying engaged with all the latest news.  Not sure if Hasbro planned it that way or not, but it's certainly making for a fun ride for those of us waist deep in speculation.

Now then, I don't mean to "Toot my own horn", but I'm getting increasingly confident that the massive waste of space inside the Rampage box that I noted in an earlier post is space for that top-rail mounted shield.

So now the Elite Lineup is looking a lot bigger than we thought.  Here's what we've got from what we've seen.

  • Retaliator
  • Rampage
  • Hailfire
  • Stockade
  • Firestrike
  • Strongarm
  • Elite Jolt (No name confirmed)
...that's quite the lineup already and it's certainly looking to replace the original N-Strike lineup at this rate.

Still, I'm curious as to your thoughts on this recent influx of information.  There's some crazy stuff out there.  Rampages with shields, Firestrikes with decent-looking Tac Lights, and a Grandma on eBay getting a Strongarm sold for over $1,000.  What's your thoughts on all this Elite-ist-ness?

  1. I think that Hasbro has a codename "Grandma" marketing strategy.

  2. A bunch of mumble jumble hurting my brain....that's what I think. But seriously, there is still one blaster me and most likely many want to be elite which would be none other than the DEPLOY!!!(joke) the alpha trooper!!!

    1. The box art seems to say so. I'd believe it.

  4. I don't know why everyone is excited for the strongarm to have slamfire, it wasn't a big deal for the speedload 6 and slamfire only works well with high capacity blasters with a forward grip, AKA raider, alpha trooper, quick 16, rampage and pyragon

    1. So what? Then we don't have to worry about our mavs jamming when firing quickly.

  8. okay, couple things. one, i have a maverick and it has never once jammed up on me. And i've had that thing for years. suck on that, maverick haters. And two, i would love to have an elite version of the longstike (as long as it had a scope) or the deploy. that's another thing. why do so many people hate the deploy? i know the range stinks, but it's very accurate. i'm just mad that my deploy got messed up trying to do a youtube mod on it.

    1. I've seen some folks who have had no troubles with the Maverick at all, but I've seen more (and experienced more myself) folks that have had issues. Maverick hater or not, the Strongarm is a huge leap forward for the Maverick. Slamfire, better ranges, and the darts are already lined up before each shot instead of the trigger pull moving the barrel into place. Hands-down, it's a significant upgrade for the Maverick.
