Mein Magnus!

Germany... oh how I appreciate all the early photos we've sourced from you!  Thanks to Nerf Canterbury for the info, we've got the next Mega dart blaster.  The Magnus is a single-shot dart blaster designed for Mega Darts, as used in the Centurion.  Looks like it's got a top-slide prime and has a Tactical Rail along the bottom with some decent looking iron sights on top.

Any Nerf Fan who's been following the Mega series knows that there's issues with both the Centurion and the darts it fires... so I'm interested to see if the Magnus addresses those issues or if they improve the darts.  Streamline darts for the N-Strike lineup saw many different iterations to improve performance and durability, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Mega darts have the same development.

  1. This better not jam.
The blaster might have good cosmetics, but I imagine that it has inverse plunger again, which means little modding potential.

    1. You never know; the Centurion doesn't actually have a reverse plunger, just a really weird direct plunger.

    2. Either way slots in the plunger tube is no way to make a nerf gun.

  2. I can see this as being a very nice thing to have around if it's not too expensive and it doesn't shred darts... If the price in USD is the same NUMBER as it is in euros, as it usually seems to be, then this won't be too big of a purchase to be worth getting for its capacity and dart type, though I'd probably get one anyway since it's a BFP.

    1. Also don't mean to rain the parade, but this will cost about $34 dollars given the current exchange rate to euros, and if the price is the same. For me that is way too expensive for a single shot stock pistol, but that's just me.

    2. The thing is, it'll probably sell at $25 since the Centurion over there is 50 euros, and over here it's $50... By the same number I mean all they seem to change between the two countries is the currency sign, meaning it's that much more expensive over there.

  3. Why is it that all I can think of is "This would make an excellent recase for an LTAR" ?

  4. Obviously, the jury's still out on the firing capabilities, but this is one beautifully designed blaster!

  5. It's actually a 3 round internal magazine, translated it from the actual site.

    1. Yeah, I caught that; that's pretty sweet. I previously was referring to the ability to hit the advertised distance unlike Big Brother, not to mention the Centurion's dart chewing tendencies.

  6. Perhaps the breech will open like how its big brother works, exposing a internal mag not shown in thr pic?

  7. I put the description into a translator and found that it is a three round mag, it has a power selector, and is fired just by pulling the trigger, with no other priming mech.

    1. A power selector like in the snapfire? Just maybe…

  8. Hey Bazookafied, didn't you say something about wanting a under-barrel mega dart launcher? While this isn't exactly what you wanted, it could certainly be integrated underneath the barrel of a nerf rifle for use as a "grenade launcher". Just a thought.

  9. Is it just me or are the new blasters looking more like real world firearms? The rayven looks like a p90, the rapid strike reminds me of a h&k g34c, and now the Magnus which screams desert eagle with the bigger rounds. I thought nerf was trying to escape being referred to as a 'gun'. Just an observation.

  10. An underside tactical rail...

Well on a pistol the Retal's Foregrip or the Centy's Bi-pod wont be much use. I can only think of a light or under-barrel weapon being useful attached to this... Are we finally going to get some more attachments for Elite/MEGA?
