Elite Sidearm Speculation

Recently, my "Big 3" Nerf Blogs have publicized another new blaster for the N-Strike Elite lineup: the Strongarm.  It's an aesthetically revamped Maverick with that 75 ft range claim, so one can assume it's got a Direct Plunger System (DPS).  The Firestrike, while we don't have any pictures of the full blaster yet, looks to be an aesthetically revamped Nite Finder.  It already has a DPS, so there's likely just improvements to that with a weaker Air Restrictor.  This is all just assumption and conjecture, but I thought I'd use the Strongarm as an example to strengthen my predictions for the Firestrike's features.

The features of the Strongarm all address issues the original Maverick had.  The tactical rail has been moved to the center of the blaster.  The design seems more streamlined for the revolving barrel system to give it better stability.  However, the basic function of the blaster appears to remain the same: a revolving turret 6-shooter pistol.

The Firestrike has been rumored to possibly have two barrels or that the secondary switch could be a flywheel accelerator switch. However, given that the Strongarm's concept is just a revamped Maverick, I'm led to believe that the Firestrike isn't all that folks are hyping it up to be. I'm predicting it's functions to be identical to the Nite Finder and for these functions to be retooled. I still expect the Firestrike to be a 3 dart blaster, with one in the chamber and 2 stored inside the blaster That secondary switch is likely just to turn on some kind of Light underneath the main barrel. That orange cover must be the AA Battery cover for the light.

Aesthetically, the Strongarm and Firestrike are cool, but much like the Retaliator and Rampage, they still fill the same roles that their N-Strike brethren before them did.

On a side note, it is neat to see the Strongarm is using the same barrel concept as my modded Maverick from awhile back. Then again, I stole the idea from the Spectre... so it was Nerf's idea to begin with. Another odd note is that while it is nice to have the tactical rail in a more useful spot... there are still no accessories for the Top Rail in the Elite Lineup. Yet...

  4. Nite Finder's always shot better than Maverick's because they already have a direct plunger system. What makes the Firestrike shoot 75ft?

  5. Hey zook, the vortex vigilion is in sonic colors now. Check out the toysrus website. I guess all the blasters are going to get the reshelling?

  8. Well it's safe to assume that trigger is for the light, not the supposed "flywheels." one because you can clearly see the same old priming mec sticking out the back, and flywheels would be pointless for a Single shot blaster. It seems Nerf Nation has decided the 2nd trigger placement in the handle is comfortable and are now putting it to good use. Now i'm not worried the slightest that it will reach lovely ranges. But i hope the tac-light is upgraded too, Cause we all know the old tactical lights are complete crap

  9. Noticed on a recent trip to toysrus that what appears to be an elite jolt is hidden in the side pocket of the elite tac vest in a photo on its own box. The gruff, post teenage nihilist wearing the vest in the pic didn't seem particularly pleased by it though...
