N-Strike Elite Accessory Guide

I was doing some work on Nerf Mods & Reviews and saw that one of the most popular posts is the Accessory guide for the N-Strike Lineup.  As I was starting to update that and tweak it a bit, I thought I should make a new one for the N-Strike Elite lineup.

Below is a listing of all accessories that work with the N-Strike Elite lineup.  There are some accessories that aren't Elite-specific that I've listed anyways as I have seen them used on blasters.  It includes Barrel Extensions, Stock Attachments, and Tactical Rail Accessories.  They are organized in that order to help you if you're looking for something specific.

Listings will include the accessory's features as well as how to get it (if it came with a set or if it was sold separately).

Barrel Extensions
N-Strike Elite Retaliator Barrel Extension
This barrel extension is almost identical to the N-Strike Recon CS-6 barrel extension except it's blue color and the rifling in the barrel.  There's a flip-up sight on the end and a tactical rail attachment on the top and bottom.  It increases accuracy, but not range.  Only available if you purchase the Retaliator or if you get it in the Stryfe Value Pack from Kohls.

N-Strike Elite Spectre REV-5 Barrel Extension
This barrel extension is identical to the N-Strike Spectre REV-5 that was a Wal-Mart Exclusive except that it is blue instead of yellow.  It gives the appearance of a "Silencer".  This accessory does not have any tactical rails or special features and does not effect range.  Only available if you purchase the Elite Spectre.

N-Strike Longstrike CS-6 Barrel Extension
This barrel extension is a close match to the Elite Blue color used on newer blasters, so it can work quite well with those accessories.  It has a Tactical Rail on top and on the bottom and also has a flip-up sight on the end of it.  It is a longer barrel extension than the Recon/Retaliator but has a wider diameter barrel, so it doesn't effect the dart's trajectory very much (if at all).

Stock Attachments

Retaliator on the left, Stockade on the Right
N-Strike Elite Retaliator Stock
This stock attachment is relatively short compared to most other types.  It is not adjustable and cannot hold any extra ammo or magazines.  This stock only is available if you purchase the Elite Retaliator.

N-Strike Elite Stockade Stock
This stock attachment is able to hold up to 10 darts but cannot be adjusted in length.  It is longer than the Retaliator stock.  It is only available if you purchase the Elite Stockade or the Stryfe Value Pack at Kohls.

N-Strike Elite Spectre REV-5 Stock
This stock attachment is foldable, fixed-length, and very lightweight.  It's a little flimsy, but this flexibility doesn't sacrifice the accuracy you'd expect to get from using a shoulder stock.  It is only available if you purchase the Elite Spectre, which is a Wal-Mart Exclusive.

Super Soaker Shot Blast Stock (Blue)
This stock attachment is adjustable to either be as short as a Retaliator Stock or about an inch longer than the Stockade Stock.  It's tricky to find since these have been out of production for a few years.  The color match to the Elite Blue is almost spot-on, so it's frequently used with Elite gear.  It is only available with the Super Soaker Shot Blast in the Blue version.  They have been discontinued since 2010.

N-Strike Raider CS-35 Stock

This stock attachment is adjustable to either be as short as the Retaliator Stock or about an inch longer than the Stockade Stock.  It's got a solid design and has been a favorite since it came out.  There's almost a spot-on color match with the Elite Blue that the newer blasters are using on it, so it's frequently used with Elite gear.  It is only available with the N-Strike Raider CS-35

NOTE: you can get that "Elite" look by swapping the inner stock piece with the white piece from a Super Soaker stock that looks an awful lot like the Raider stock.

Tactical Rail Accessories

N-Strike Elite Retaliator Foregrip
This accessory typically mounts on the underside of the blaster or accessory.  Blasters like the Stryfe and RapidStrike have rails this will work on.  However, if the blaster doesn't have that feature, it can still work if you have a barrel extension like the Longstrike or Retaliator design, since both of those have downward-facing tactical rails.  There is no other function to this other than to act as a foregrip.  It is pretty sturdy and lightweight.  This accessory is only available with the N-Strike Elite Retaliator and the Stryfe Value Pack at Kohls.

N-Strike Stampede ECS Foregrip/Bipod
This accessory has two functions.  It has a button on the back side of the foregrip that allows two spring-loaded bipod arms to flip out from the bottom.  The arms fold back inside the foregrip when not in use.  It attaches just like the Retaliator Foregrip to a downward-facing Tactical Rail.  The Bipod isn't very big, so if you have a long clip in the blaster you're using it on, it may not work very well.  This accessory is only available with the N-Strike Stampede ECS.

N-Strike Elite MEGA Centurion Bipod
This accessory is a large folding bipod with arms that move independent of eachother.  The can be folded forwards, backwards, or clicked down to use.  It is quite large, but also somewhat heavy, so it doesn't always stay on the blaster.  It attaches just like the Retaliator or Stampede grips on the underside Tactical Rail.  This accessory is only available with the N-Strike Elite MEGA Centurion.

N-Strike Barrel Break IX-2 Dart Holder
This accessory is able to hold 8 darts.  It's a simple, yet effective design that can give any blaster quick access to extra ammo.  It is a favorite among Nerf fans for it's utility.  It can attach to any Tactical Rail and can hold just about any kind of Micro Dart.  It is only available with the Barrel Break, which was a Toys R Us Exclusive.  The new Elite version of the Barrel Break does not have this accessory.

N-Strike Elite Pinpoint Sight
This accessory is a Red Dot Sight that runs off of 2 AAA batteries.  While it's admittedly not very accurate, it is highly sought after and quite rare to find.  They were a limited special release and did not come with any blasters.  They also came in an older format in Yellow, but they are the same in design and function.

N-Strike Elite Mission App
This accessory is an iPod/iPhone Cradle that attaches to the Tactical Rail.  You can download the free NERF App in the iTunes Store and record game footage, take pictures, and set objectives.  The attachment to the rail is VERY strong, so there's not a lot of risk in it falling off the blaster.  The cradle is able to house iPhone 4 and 5 and iPod 4 and 5 as well.  It is available on it's own and retails for around $15 USD.

N-Strike Longstrike CS-6 Flip-Up Sight
This accessory is a set of ironsights that can flip-up to adjust your shot to arc further.  The Flip-Up sight is not that accurate, but the ironsights aren't bad.  It's blue color matches the Elite Blue quite well and its good for that "Tacticool" look.  You can easily paint over the yellow NERF logo in Black or White to make it match the Elite blasters even more.  You can also find this sight in White with the Whiteout series.  It is only available on the N-Strike Longstrike CS-6.

Super Soaker Shot Blast Sight
This accessory is a faux scope that came with the Value Pack of the Super Soaker Shot Blast in the Blue version (also available in Red and White).  They were only released for a short time and are hard to find.  The blue on them matches the Elite blue quite well and, which the scope doesn't actually work, it looks very nice on blasters.  It is only available in the Super Soaker Shot Blast Value Pack, which was discontinued in 2010.

  1. lol why not use real non military grade attachments they cost the same.. nerf made their tactical rails work with real attachments for a reason these attachments are all for kids.

the only one that's not is maybe the lightning storm stock but even then you can get the Xploror stock adaptor.

    grow up dude

    1. "Grow up dude"? Not sure if you noticed, but regardless of the accessories you put on these blasters, it's still a toy gun. We're all kids (at heart) for playing with these. Chill out.

Besides, this guide is designed to answer questions about Nerf's products, much like the N-Strike Accessory Guide on NM&R, only for the newer stuff. I've used non-Nerf accessories on my blasters like Xplorer gear, Red Dot sights, and flashlight mounts many times before.

  2. I've found that the Stampede bipod grip is better with the Centurion than the Centurion's own bipod is, given its inability to spontaneously collapse under weight, the fact that it's much lighter, and that it provides a VERY stable second grip point for unsupported shots. It also seems to attach more securely than the Centurion bipod does, probably because of the weight-to-spring-strength ratio. Height isn't a problem; the 6-round MEGA clip is short enough that when on a flat surface the bipod and the end of the blaster both touch the ground, with about an inch to spare for the clip. The only attachment issues I've had with it are when torque is applied at the rail point around the axis of the barrel, but that happens with all blasters and the vast majority of accessories.

  3. What about the Lightning Storm stock? Noticed you didn't mention that one.

    1. Great suggestion. I've used one many times. It'd be good to add to this list. I'll update it later! Thanks!!

    1. I love the way you think, but I think that this should be a more open source project where we all contribute. For one of your suggestions I found a quick answer on Google. " Take a video of an object in motion, mark its position frame by frame, and set up the scale using a known distance. Video Physics then draws trajectory, position, and velocity graphs for the object. Share video, graphs and data via the Camera Roll, email, and iTunes." http://www.vernier.com/products/software/video-physics/

I'm sure if someone found a website with a rating system like you describe, used right click, inspect element and cut and pasted the code into Dreamweaver or a HTML format that it could provide insight into loading that here... but since this is a Blogger template I feel there may be limitations to the extent of coding that can be added to the blog. Then again it would require someone with the time and energy to do the coding, and right. Upon using "right click" "inspect element" I noticed that your site isn't SEO optimized, meaning that it lacks key words, and a description for each page. While your blog does get hits from google the variety of words used in the meta content could be why you're visits aren't as good as last year.... or it could be the Holidays. You have a Google+ account so your heading in the right direction. Try here:

Great Job by the way. Good suggestions Chsmith5.
