RapidStrikes have Landed

They're blue, they're full-auto, and they're STATE-SIDE.  Nabbed a N-Strike Elite "RapidStrike CS-18" off a local retailer's shelf!  Stay tuned on the blog and my Facebook Page for further updates!  There's several great reviews on this blaster already, so I'll likely just do a quick overview video and then focus on all the devious plans I have for the RapidStrike.  From an "Amped" test to pic-spam to simple modifications and complex recasings, there's a lot in store for Nerf's first Full-Auto Flywheel-driven dart-slinging blaster!

Oh, and while I'm at it... I'm ALWAYS open to your suggestions as to what I should do with this blaster.  Lemme know what you wanna see!

    1. First Full-Auto Flywheel Dart Blaster is what I should've said. The Nitron was the first Flywheel Full-Auto blaster, but it shoots disks. The Stampede was the first Full-Auto Dart Blaster with a Plunger system.

    2. Clip system, actually; you're forgetting the Vulcan here, which also had a plunger.

    1. I'm located in Omaha, NE. I've only successfully found it at a Toys R Us. There are 2 TRUs in town and only the one had 'em. Still, they should start showing up now.

  4. Well, I guess I'll take your invitation...there's one thing I'd like you to confirm for me if you decide to do an amped test:

I noticed in RandomShadow's demonstration/range video that he mounted four Li-Ion Trustfires in the battery tray directly; that is,with what looked like a lack of C-battery adapter cases. Is there anyway that you can do that and report on whether it's at all possible and whether it is stable enough to use practically?

  5. I love the awesome look of this blaster! It just looks serious. I really hope that Nerf comes out with more blasters with awesome features such as ghost ring sights and built-in foregrips. I have always preferred blasters that look and feel like real firearms.

I noticed that your photo of the RapidStrike is only focused on the front. If you want to have the whole blaster in focus, hence accentuating every sensuous little detail, use a small aperture, for example, f22 on your Canon T3i. Aperture is the amount of light a camera lets in. Large apertures give a very small depth of field, but small apertures give a large depth of field. (The way that you can remember this is that high aperture numbers give a high depth of field, and low aperture numbers give a low depth of field.) The iPhone's only aperture is a humongous f2.4, so it isn't optimal for taking photos where depth of field is important. Using a smaller aperture (big number such as f22) will cause less light to reach the camera sensor, so your camera will automatically lower the shutter speed to make a properly exposed photo. (This is assuming that you would be using aperture priority mode. You could also adjust both aperture and shutter speed in the manual mode.) To prevent blurring caused by camera shake, I suggest getting more lighting onto your subject: this will raise your shutter speed. Also, you could use a tripod.

You probably won't need to worry about either of these, though, because the optimum aperture will probably be around f11 or something, and that won't create a shutter speed low enough to cause camera shake.

I hope that this helps and didn't go over your head. :)

    1. I've been messing around with my T1i for awhile and been enjoying all the great shots you can take with it. Thanks for the awesome advice! These blasters look great, and it's nice to take shots that compliment that!

  6. Suggestion for a mod: Paint the orange stripe white, to match the colours of the rest of the range.
